Kati Kuchinskaya

Kati Kuchinskaya is a contemporary artist based in Georgia and the author of the artistic concept Hermetic Abstraction. Her practice unites painted surfaces, relief and poetic text.

Born into a family of Polish heritage in Murmansk in 1984, Kati spent her childhood moving between places. Her early experience of conflict in Georgia shaped an enduring sensitivity to the ideas of home, protected boundaries and the fragility of the familiar world.

After a career in business, she devoted herself fully to painting in 2025. Her first painting, Explosion, marked the beginning of an intensive exploration of texture and material.

Today she lives and works in Georgia, transforming memory and experience into autonomous visual worlds.

Each painting is conceived as a self-contained world. Its boundaries, material structure and partially concealed meanings invite the viewer to look beyond a single interpretation.

Poetry accompanies the work as one possible key. It does not explain the image or close its meaning; it leaves room for a personal encounter.

The frame is formed directly on the canvas using textural materials. It becomes an integral part of the composition, defining the edge of the world created within it.

Paint, relief and contrasting surfaces create a dialogue between the image and its boundary. The work takes on its complete form during the process of making.
